Following her stint on the second season of The Voice, Charlotte Sometimes released Circus Head in 2012, and is now set to follow that up with another EP, her fifth altogether, next week (March 4). Titled By Request, the tracklist for the four-song acoustic set was decided upon after Charlotte let fans select songs to be re-worked into more stripped down versions for the release. Included is a reinterpretation of the singer-songwriter’s “Losing Sleep” (originally from her debut album Waves And The Both Of Us), as well as a cover of Foster The People‘s summer 2011 smash “Pumped Up Kicks” and a new song, “Magic.”

Charlotte entered New York’s Cutting Room Studios to lay down By Request, which was recorded live in one day. From the opening acoustic guitar chords of “Magic” to Sometimes’ final, heartfelt vocal yowls on “Losing Sleep,” it’s clear that this special release is a unique vehicle that once again showcases the 25-year-old singer’s incredible wealth of talent.

Head below to give By Request an early listen, ahead of its official release on March 4.
