Rihanna Is Recording A Concept Album Based On New Animated Movie ‘Home’. What Now?

Good news, Navy! Rihanna will be releasing new tunes in the not-too-distant future but it won’t be on her now long-overdue annual LP. According to Variety, the hitmaker is recording a concept album based on a new animated movie called Home. She also voices one of the blockbuster’s main characters.

This seems highly unlikely for someone of RiRi’s stature but the article quotes DreamWorks Animation boss Jeffrey Katzenberg for the curious news. Perhaps something was lost in translation and she’s merely recording a couple of songs for the soundtrack? That would make a lot more sense. I guess we’ll know soon enough. Home hits theaters in November.

How do you feel about Rihanna recording a concept album for a movie based on a book called The True Meaning of Smekday? Let us know in the comments below.
