The Knocks Remix The Preatures’ “Better Than It Ever Could Be”: Idolator Premiere
New York City electronic duo The Knocks have tackled “Better Than It Ever Could Be” by emerging Aussie rockers The Preatures for their latest remix, which we’re excited to premiere. If you’ve heard the charming original, you know it’s a jangly guitar pop romp (and if you haven’t heard it, you should remedy that). For the remix, The Knocks have turned it upside down, taking the riffs out of the garage and into a neo-disco roller jam. In the process, they’ve homed in on singer Isabella Manfredi’s raspy “It gets better than it ever could be” declaration, chopping and looping it over a four-on-the-floor beat.
