Iamamiwhoami Delivers Another Pristine Piece Of Scandipop: Watch “Hunting For Pearls”

We last heard from Sweden’s Iamamiwhoami in January when “Fountain” dropped out of nowhere to freshen our pop palate. The diva, better known to friends and family as Jonna Lee, continues to promote her as-yet-untitled third album — this time with sprawling ambient-pop gem “Hunting For Pearls”.

This is another lushly produced piece of scandipop complete with a wall of icy synths and Jonna’s trademark haunting vocal. As usual, the focus is on mood and atmosphere as opposed to obvious hooks and melodies. Not that “Hunting For Pearls” isn’t catchy in its own subtle way. As for the video? It’s a kooky alpine ride that finds Iamamiwhoami being chased through a dark forest and swimming underwater. Watch up top.
