Andre 3000 In Jimi Hendrix Biopic ‘All Is By My Side’: Watch Two Scenes From The Movie
On Sunday, writer/director John Ridley picked up the Oscar for his 12 Years A Slave screenplay. And if we’re to take a major leap and simply go by two new clips from his upcoming Jimi Hendrix biopic All Is By My Side, he could be an early contender for next year’s round of statues to be had, as well.
The film, which stars Andre Benjamin (aka Outkast‘s Andre 3000) as the rock legend and That Awkward Moment‘s Imogen Poots as love interest Linda Keith — the real life inspiration for the Rolling Stones‘ “Ruby Tuesday” and Hendrix’s own “Red House” — is set to debut stateside on March 12 at Austin’s Paramount Theatre during South By Southwest. Below are two clips from the movie, both featuring Benjamin and Poots, and both promising that All Is By My Side is going to be at least worth checking out for Andre nailing Jimi’s voice alone.
