Drake Joins The Party In YG’s “Who Do You Love” Video: Watch

Los Angeles rapper YG meets Drake at an after-hours pool party in his “Who Do You Love” video, directed by Benny Boom. They laugh, drink and mingle among a throng of women for the majority of the time, as to be expected from a mainstream rap video. But there’s a twist – YG’s there to blow off some steam, after he finds out that his girl’s been cheating on him. The song itself, produced by the in-demand (and longtime collaborator) DJ Mustard, harkens to what’s at stake with its spare piano and queasy synths.

“Who Do You Love” appears on YG’s debut album My Krazy Life, out March 18 on Def Jam. Both arrive after YG gained traction on hip-hop radio in 2013, thanks largerly to “My Hitta” featuring Young Jeezy and Rich Homie Quan. Because he was born in Compton, he’s also being compared to Kendrick Lamar, if only to show how both acts will add to the city’s hip-hop legacy.

“I think the West Coast is an extremely legendary place, but at the same time I think there’s a new breed of guys, YG included, Kendrick included, guys that are just writing their own chapter,” Drake says in Complex‘s forthcoming YG documentary, also titled My Krazy Life. Don’t be surprised if that chapter leads to crossover success; as YG prepped his debut, pop stars ranging from Rihanna to Kanye West and Jennifer Lopez (“Girls”) have approached DJ Mustard to add his trademark ratchet sound.
