Beyoncé’s “Partition” Video Has Bill O’Reilly All Hot & Bothered

Bill O’Reilly hilariously referred to Kanye West as a “gangster rapper” a couple weeks ago, so it’s important to know this is a man who is in tune with pop music before we dive into this non-story. The TV pundit has now focused his rage on Beyoncé and the supposed bad example she’s setting for teenagers in her “Partition” video. In a recent interview with Def Jam co-founder Russell Simmons, who was there to discuss meditation, O’Reilly for some reason decided to go on a tangent about the visual.

“She puts out a new album with a video that glorifies having sex in the back of a limousine. Teenage girls look up to Beyoncé, particularly girls of color,” he said. “Why on Earth would this woman do that? Why would she do it when she knows the devastation that unwanted pregnancies… and fractured families.” He continued: “I believe an entertainer like Beyoncé and a mogul like you have an obligation to protect children, not put out exploitive garbage that you know harms impressionable children.”

Simmons, after trying to steer the conversation back to his book, relented and defended “Partition” as art. “Beyoncé having sex in the back of a limo and referencing Monica Lewinsky is art?” an incredulous O’Reilly responded.

Dude knows how the Internet works, right? Like, there’s much worse shit these apparently hyper-impressionable teens can come across online than a little burlesque show from Beyoncé (dancing = art) and a hilarious line about Monica Lewinsky (comedy = art). Plus, it’s informative! If the lyrics send a kid to Lewinsky’s Wikipedia page, that’s legitimately educational. At the very least, it’s more educational than The O’Reilly Factor.
