The Ladies Of G.R.L. Deliver Their Best Song Yet: Listen To The Incredible “Ugly Heart”

G.R.L. continues to impress with brilliant new single “Ugly Heart”. After landing their first entry on the Billboard Hot 100 as the featured vocalists on Pitbull‘s undeniable “Wild Wild Love”, the brightest new girl band in pop could have their own breakout hit in the not-too-distant future with this irresistible anthem.

“Ok you’re pretty, your face is a work of art”, the girls declare defiantly over strummed guitars in the chorus. “Your smile could light up New York City after dark.” But don’t get it twisted — this is not a love song. The babes of G.R.L. don’t have time for a dude with “an ugly heart” and quickly put the bum in his place.

I love the band’s new acoustic (but not really)/guitar-pop direction. After that forgettable Smurfs 2 soundtrack cut, “Wild Wild Love” and “Ugly Heart” have been a revelation. The songs set G.R.L. apart from the hordes of electro-pop practitioners clogging the airwaves and the production (courtesy of Dr. Luke) leaves you hooked after the first listen. Listen after the jump.
