Backstreet Boys Announce North American Summer Tour, Avril Lavigne To Open

Backstreet Boys returned last year with In A World Like This and an accompanying tour, but that didn’t fully feed everyone’s hunger for the boy band glory days of the ’90s. So the five guys appeared on Good Morning America today (March 14) and announced a second leg of North American dates. And, get this, Avril Lavigne nabbed the supporting slot for the 23 US shows (ironically).

The tour starts May 3 in New Brunswick kicking off a string of Canadian dates, then they’ll work their way through the US starting May 22 in Seattle and finishing up a month later at Jones Beach in New York. Tickets go on sale March 21.
