Azealia Banks Says She Will Leak Her Album On Tax Day

If time is a flat circle, then Azealia Banks always has been and always will be tweeting, in perpetuity and in this moment simultaneously. Which could explain why we haven’t heard new music from her in so long. Thus, Azealia’s latest headline again comes from a tweet, in which she indicates she’ll leak her debut album, Broke With Expensive Taste, on tax day. “Album leaks starting April 15th,” the Harlem MC wrote last night (March 20).

This is very likely some sort of strong-arm tactic to force her label to release the music, similar to what M.I.A. and Angel Haze pulled. Or maybe it’s just a way to remind everyone that her album, which was originally slated for a 2012 release (!), is still a thing that’s going to happen.

See her tweet below.

The massive amount of hype surrounding this LP has died down, but the befuddling nature of its delays and everything surrounding it has come full (flat) circle, going from exhausting to interesting again, if only because we want to see just what type of fare was causing all this hand-wringing and fumbling.
