Puff Daddy Puffs His Chest On “Big Homie” With Rick Ross & French Montana: Listen

Diddy Puff Daddy‘s grand return is upon us. After teasing the “Big Homie” music video under the moniker that he he first became famous with, Sean Combs‘ lead single off his forthcoming album Money Making Mitch has hit the Web. It features Rick Ross and French Montana, and it sounds like all that time spent hanging out with Rozay has rubbed off on the Bad Boy honcho, because this is a trunk-rattling bomb of braggadocio.

Puffy’s opening ad lib basically sets up the song as a rant against ageism, and over a lumbering trap beat, he celebrates the power that he’s accumulated after years in the game (“Boy, you’s a lil nigga, Gary Coleman / I be calling all the shots, big homie”). His delivery is growlier than ever, but unlike his rabid yelling in “Hate Me Now” or “Nobody,” it’s a controlled rage. The tough guy look keeps him from getting swallowed by the beat’s heft, and helps him carry his own weight alongside a typically bellowed Rozay verse. (As for Montana, he’s relegated to HAAHN-ing over the beat throughout.)
