Lady Gaga arrived at her closing, week-long residency (beginning March 28) at New York’s Roseland Ballroom in true Hollywood fashion, as she stepped out of her car and teetered inside, pausing on her way to wave to flashing, blinding cameras. Once inside the venue, however, the ARTPOP diva flew through an hour-long setlist-turned-career highlight reel, cutting off even her biggest hits as they were still brewing, while she reverted back to the New York club kid who fans have grown to know and love.

The historic Roseland Ballroom opened in 1958 as a ballroom dancing hall before it hosted concerts by the Rolling Stones, Bob Dylan, Radiohead and Beyonce. Following Gaga’s residency, the venue will shut down in April. “How completely epic for an amazing venue,” Gaga said, according to Billboard. “I mean, what a dream come true. Who has a 10-day funeral?” Meanwhile, fans outside and inside would wish her happy birthday throughout – after all, Gaga was turning 28 that night.
