Anna Kendrick Raps To Iggy Azalea On ‘SNL’: Watch

Pitch Perfect star Anna Kendrick sang – and rapped – during key sketches while hosting Saturday Night Live. In one, she plays The Little Mermaid‘s Ariel, who tries to trade her voice for human legs but risks losing out with each Top 40 hit that she sings: Kesha‘s “We R Who We R,” Britney Spears‘ “Womanizer” and Selena Gomez‘s “Come and Get It.” (“Yes, isn’t it beautiful? It’s how the humans are singing now,” Kendrick says. Ursula, played by Aidy Bryant, cringes.)

Kendrick fares better when she raps instead to Iggy Azalea‘s latest single “Fancy,” though not by much.

She also rapped in a sketch called “Dongs All Over the World,” or an all-girl version of Ludacris’ “Area Codes,” perhaps inspired by Jennifer Lopez‘s double standard-destroying “I Luh Ya Papi” video. There, actual pop stars (and Bangerz tour opening act) Icona Pop makes a cameo as pilots who can’t help but to sing “I Love It,” if only briefly. Watch Kendrick fumble through Top 40 hits up top, then check out “Dongs All Over the World” after the jump.
