It’s been a big day for Calvin Harris. The Scottish DJ unveiled his desert-themed, lingerie-filled “Summer” video earlier today (April 7) and dropped his lush extended mix this afternoon. The now almost five-minute anthem packs a heftier dance floor punch with bigger build-ups and a couple of interesting twists and turns.

For example, the soaring synths in the single edit make way for the occasional guitar and even a bass-heavy interlude. The mid-tempo detours compliment Calvin’s trademark synths and give “Summer” a slightly more organic feel that evokes memories of breakthrough smash “Feel So Close”. Listen to the new (and improved) remix after the jump.
