Michael Jackson’s “Xscape”: Listen To The Title Track From His Latest Posthumous Album

Michael Jackson‘s forthcoming posthumous album Xscape is set to contain collaborations with the likes of Mary J. Blige, Questlove and D’Angelo, though the title track, which has surfaced online in full, features MJ going it alone.

Kudos to whomever spruced up the driving beat here, because it does resemble the “classic” Jackson sound, somewhat. But overall, the melody in “Xscape”  is pretty much barren of hooks and the chorus is missing that old King-Of-Pop magic. It’s not hard to see why this original demo never went any further, previously…and it doesn’t exactly leave us wanting more from this project.

Bottom line: it’s probably time to put the lid on these reheated Michael Jackson leftovers. Give “Xscape” a listen below and see if you agree.
