Flaming Lips frontman and all-around musical mad scientist Wayne Coyne shared a snippet of Miley Cyrus singing The Beatles‘ “A Day In The Life” on Instagram last night (April 9). The Bangerz diva has been working on the sonic explorer’s re-imaging of Sgt. Pepper’s Lonely Hearts Club LP but her contribution was thought to be limited to a cover of “Lucy In The Sky With Diamonds” (as previously announced).

“Woke up ..fell out of bed.. dragged a comb across my head.. Yep!!!! @mileycyrus singing the Paul McCartney bit on A Day In The Life!!!!! Yesss!!” read Coyne’s extremely excited Instagram caption. The 53-year-old also gave a hint that the super spacey cover could be a collaboration with New Fumes by tagging them in his message. I guess this means Miley has two appearances on what will surely be the year’s weirdest tribute album. Listen to a snippet of her singing “A Day In The Life” after the jump.
