OK so 2 Chainz is basically the male version of Rihanna when it comes to insane levels of output. Dude’s already working on B.O.A.T.S. III, and in the meantime, he has decided to release a new EP called Freebase (interesting title considering his recent drug charges.) The EP is due out May 5, and it’s being touted as a fan-oriented project that finds Tity Boi returning to “hardcore, streetflavored rap.”

“It has been a minute since the release of my album B.O.A.T.S. II: Me Time and I wanted to give something special to my fans while I record my follow-up album,” the rapper said in a statement. “This is a taste of what is to come.” The fan thing isn’t just hollow marketing jargon either — the cover (which you can see up top) was chosen from thousands of fan submissions on Instagram. The winning design features a photo of the legendary Richard Pryor wearing two chain necklaces.

Check out the trailer below, which features part of a new song.
