Lana Del Rey’s “West Coast” Has Been Cleaned Up For Radio: Listen To Dan Auerbach’s Official Remix

Lana Del Rey‘s wonderfully hazy “West Coast” has been cleaned up for radio by producer Dan Auerbach. The official remix, which surfaced on Interscope’s SoundCloud over the weekend, puts the Ultraviolence diva’s vocal higher in the mix — making the lyrics easier to understand and the song more digestible to radio programers.

Part of the original’s immense appeal is the Xanax-with-a-whiskey-chaser fog that hovers over the song but Auerbach’s remix doesn’t dispel it completely and it is nice to hear exactly what Lana is singing. It will be interesting to see which version they use for the Vincent Haycock-directed video, which could drop any day now according to his Twitter. Listen after the jump.
