Beyonce Lends Her Voice To Surprise Boots Duet “Dreams”: Listen

Boots became one of the hottest producers in the game — literally overnight — when Beyonce‘s critically acclaimed visual album hit iTunes at midnight on December 13. His simultaneously intricate and sparse production set the tone for the game-changing LP and greatly influenced the current direction of R&B as a genre. It’s only fair then that Queen Bey return the favor and lend her golden voice to one of Jordan Asher‘s (his real name) tunes.

“Dreams” is a sleepy, jazz-tinged ballad that showcases both Boots’ production acumen and his own vocal ability. He voices most of the romantic ballad (“I’ve been dreamin’ of you all my life”) and gets deep into his feelings in the verses before Beyonce harmonizes with him on the chorus and has her own star turn at around the 2:40 minute mark. It’s exceedingly beautiful and reminds me of 4 bonus track “Dreaming” (albeit with an indie twist). All proceeds go to Day One — a charity that aims to stop the abuse of women. Listen to Bey and Boots after the  jump.
