Iggy Azalea’s ‘The New Classic’ Is Heading For A Top Five Debut On The Billboard 200

Iggy Azalea‘s debut LP The New Classic drew mixed reviews from critics but fans have given the hip-hop/pop opus a resounding thumbs up. The Australian rap diva’s album is predicted to sell between 50,000 and 55,000 copies in its first week, which should be enough for a top five debut on the Billboard 200.

Impressively, the newcomer is expected to sell more than rap heavyweight Future. His sophomore set Honest will sell less than 50,000 copies if predictions are accurate. The New Classic‘s opening bow has, no doubt, been buoyed by the success of Charli XCX-assisted smash “Fancy”. It shoots into the top 20 on the Billboard Hot 100 this week and is shaping up to be a blockbuster hit.

Are you surprised that Iggy has prospered where Angel Haze and Azealia Banks failed? Have your say in the comments below.
