Brooke Candy’s “Opulence” Video Will Give You Nightmares: Watch The Steven Klein-Directed Clip

Here’s a great way to start off the week: It’s Brooke Candy‘s horrifying, yet captivating, video for her first official single “Opulence.” This is definitely one those instances where it really doesn’t matter what the song itself sounds like (it’s okay…nothing mind-blowing), because, in this case, the visual is so powerful that it overrides anything you’ll remember about the quality of music.

Nicola Formichetti, former style designer for Lady Gaga (circa Born This Way), really plunged into the dark recesses of god-knows-where when coming up with the the aesthetic here, for Brooke. We first see the Los Angeles-based rapstress beating some muscular, bald dude to the ground then stuffing $100 bills into his mouth. Then she hops in a car and morphs from one jewel-encrusted demon to another, while shots of a glitter-splattered Candy in a freakish strip club are edited in throughout.

Madonna‘s longtime visual collaborator Steve Klein directed the video for the Sia co-written “Opulence,” the lead track on Brooke Candy’s same-titled, five-song EP (out May 5). Enjoy (?) the video above, and let us know what you think below.
