Rihanna’s Instagram Deactivated Following Topless Photo [UPDATE]

Welp, either Rihanna mistakenly shut down her Instagram account during her latest attempt to arouse the world, or the social media company followed through on its threats and deactivated her account because her racy photos violated their terms and conditions (“You may not post violent, nude, partially nude, discriminatory, unlawful, infringing, hateful, pornographic or sexually suggestive photos”). The latter would be a monumentally stupid move for Instagram, which is par for the course for massive social media companies, so we’re going to assume that’s what happened.

Rihanna lit up the Internet recently by posting her topless cover of Lui magazine on her badgalriri account. After Instagram ordered her to remove it, she complied and swiftly mocked their terms by posting photos of the photo, as well as nude illustrations.

UPDATE: As of roughly 11:30 a.m. this morning, it’s back!

So now where will the world go to get its topless pop star fix?? Well, pretty much anywhere, actually. There’s Miley, Rita Ora, Nicki Minaj, Lady Gaga, yada yada.

The power of music, or whatever.
