Sia’s “Chandelier” Video: Watch Young Dance Dynamo Maddie Ziegler In Awe

If you’re looking for the crash-and-burn party girl described in the lyrics to Sia‘s heart-wrenching single “Chandelier,” you won’t find her in the song’s music video. Nor does Ms. Furler herself appear. In fact, much like the visual for “Titanium,” her mainstream breakthrough pair-up with David Guetta, “Chandelier” is absent of the singer and it focuses on a youngster — in this case, pre-teen dancer Maddie Ziegler.

Here Maddie hops to and fro in a dingy, empty house while wearing a skin colored bodysuit and what could be best described as a Sia-bobbed wig. The Dance Moms star’s movements are at once beautiful and heartbreaking, as she interprets heavy lines like “help me, I’m holding on for dear life” and “here comes the shame” through nimble steps.

Kids…they’ll get you every time.

“Chandelier” is the first single from Sia’s upcoming LP 1000 Forms Of Fear. Watch the video, which was co-directed by Sia and Daniel Askill, above.
