Shakira's new album is very weird and very wonderful. Read More »

While Shakira continues to promote kooky, ’90s-inspired rock ballad “Empire” in America, the Colombian diva went with Dr. Luke‘s bonkers “Dare (La La La)” in the rest of the world. Which explains why official remixes have already arrived. There’s an amiable fiesta-flavored mix by Chus & Ceballos but Chuckie‘s massive electro-house overhaul is the real treat.

The Dutch DJ’s — yes another one — take on “Dare (La La La)” is surprisingly understated for the first minute and a half before he pulls the trigger and the track explodes into a cacophony of screaming synths. It’s pretty much perfect for clubland and should reinstate Shakira as the queen of the dance floor. At least for the summer. Listen to Chuckie’s mammoth remix after the jump.
