Macklemore Wears Offensive Outfit At Secret Show, Incurs Seth Rogen’s Wrath
Macklemore is held up by many as an example of everything that’s right about rap music in 2014, largely due to his progressive attitude towards gay rights (as evidenced by critically acclaimed hit “Same Love”). Much of that goodwill evaporated last night (May 18) when pics of the 30-year-old wearing a seemingly offensive costume surfaced online.
Twitter was quick to pounce on the “Thrift Shop” hitmaker for his transgression. Comedian Seth Rogen lead the charge, tweeting: “first you trick people into thinking you’re a rapper, now you trick them into thinking you’re Jewish?” Macklemore quickly denied that he was dressed as a caricature, claiming it was just a “random costume”. See the Twitter fallout after the jump.

.@macklemore, first you trick people into thinking you're a rapper, now you trick them into thinking you're Jewish? pic.twitter.com/3rtaE4GHje

What makes Macklemore's anti-Semitic costume even crazier is that his biggest song is about saving money.

.@macklemore really?? Because if I told someone to put together an anti Semitic Jew costume, they'd have that exact shopping list.
