Love Dollhouse Channels Destiny’s Child And SWV On Debut Single “Can I”: Watch Their Video

It’s been a while since a new R&B girl group broke big, which is odd because the ’90s and early ’00s were littered with iconic all-female acts like Destiny’s Child, En Vogue, TLC and SWV. There is, however, some hope on the horizon in the form of Love Dollhouse — trio of teenagers from Detroit with a killer debut single called “Can I”.

Written by Claude Kelly and produced by Jon Jon Traxx, “Can I” is an R&B-infused pop gem with an infectious chorus and the kind of lush, layered harmonies you just don’t hear on the radio anymore. The song definitely has a fuzzy throwback vibe that evokes the great girl bands that went before them. Ryan, Jasmine and Chelsea perform some cute choreography in the video (up top) but mostly just kick back and sing.
