If you’re tired of Microsoft’s fondness for Alex Clare‘s “Too Close” and the company’s over-usage of the song in its Explorer ads, there may be some relief on the way. The British singer announced that his sophomore LP Three Hearts will be released on July 21. Of course, whether or not Clare can bust out of the dreaded one-hit wonder slot he’s found himself in alongside such folks at Gotye remains to be seen. Perhaps new single “War Rages On” will do the trick?

Give the dramatic video a watch below and see if you think the bombastic “War Rages On” has got the chops to become Alex’s second smash in America.

Clare says of his upcoming album, “The new record is very much an album of thanksgiving; of gratitude that things have worked out pretty sweetly for me. The lyrics aren’t far-out, or material-centric; they’re just about living. It’s so boring writing about disastrous things all the time; it’s nice to write about something that’s just really good.”

The UK’s Official Charts Company notes that Alex worked on Three Hearts with songwriters Dan Wilson, Steve Booker and Ben Hudson.
