Ridiculously excited for Lana Del Rey‘s Ultraviolence? Well, get ready to hike your expectations even higher when you hear a 36 second snippet of “Brooklyn Baby”. The selfie queen has not missed a beat this era. From lead single “West Coast” to the mysterious rollout and elaborate packaging options, everything about the 27-year-old’s sophomore set has been absolutely on-point. And the latest taste of the LP is no exception.

“My boyfriend’s in the band, he plays guitar while I sing Lou Reed,” sings the gloomy diva in a Valium haze over fuzzy feedback and morose guitar. “I got feathers in my hair, I get down to poetry.” That’s when the lo-fi chorus kicks in with Lana cooing: “I’m a Brooklyn Baby!” It’s beautiful and depressing and strangely catchy. In other words, quintessentially LDR. Preview the gem after the jump.
