Last night at the World Music Awards in Monte-Carlo, Monaco, Mariah Carey took home the Pop Icon Award for having the most number one singles in America, but not without reaffirming her true diva status first.  Arriving four hours late, Mimi delayed the awards show as well as her own launch party for her latest album Me, I am Mariah. The Elusive Chanteuse, causing artists such as Miley Cyrus and Tinie Tempah to wait patiently in the wings. Nonetheless, the reasons for her late arrival still remains unknown.

As if that wasn’t enough drama surrounding the WMA’s, NBC, who was supposed to air the awards ceremony, aired a re-run of the Last Comic Standing instead. While NBC has kept quiet about situation, Billboard suspects that it was live-stream technical difficulties that caused NBC to do the last minute switch.
