COOPER’s “This Year” Lyric Video: Idolator Premiere

Hailing from Brisbane, singer-songwriter Kate Cooper has already had quite a storied career. Her first band, Iron On, supported Tegan And Sara on tour in Australia before Kate eventually moved on to form the duo An Horse, where again she found herself traveling — this time in America — as opening act for the Quin sisters.

Jump ahead a few years, and Kate now has new material she worked on in Los Angeles with producer Tim Myers (who co-wrote OneRepublic‘s “Stop And Stare” during his time spent as a former member of the band) and executive producer Sara Quin. Now going simply as COOPER, one of the first offerings from this set of songs is “This Year,” a track being used in promos for E!’s current season of Keeping Up With The Kardashians.

Today Idolator is premiering the cute, notebook-themed lyric video for “This Year” ahead of an upcoming EP release by COOPER (via indie label Mom + Pop). Watch above, and if you like what you hear, let us know below and then go pick up the song on iTunes.
