Future Walks From Dusk Till Dawn In “Blood, Sweat, Tears” Video: Watch

Future walks alone in his new video for “Blood, Sweat, Tears,” the triumphant conclusion of his sophomore album Honest. He starts following a deserted road while it’s pitch black outside, then keeps walking until the sun rises. The video’s premise is simple, yes, though it also should remind fans of the Atlanta rapper’s biggest influence, going into his new music: Coldplay.

“I just like the melodies. They’re very melodic,” Future said to The Huffington Post, adding, “I don’t really listen to anybody in hip-hop.”

But it’s hard to ignore the aesthetic similarities between “Blood, Sweat, Tears” and Coldplay’s “Yellow” video, too. For the latter, frontman Chris Martin sang the song while walking on a beach, alone, in one continuous shot from dusk till dawn. More importantly, Future appears just as earnest in “Blood, Sweat, Tears” as Martin does for “Yellow” – and that sort of behavior is now rare in hip-hop videos, as Future likely knows too.

Watch Future sing of “Blood, Sweat, Tears” in his new video up top, then re-visit Coldplay’s “Yellow’ after the jump.
