From the moment Lana Del Rey revealed the tracklist of sophomore set Ultraviolence, fans and critics have been speculating about the iconically-named “Fucked My Way Up To The Top”. That track — and the rest of the album — surfaced online today (June 11) and it’s every bit as seedy, depressing and awe-inspiringly amazing as the title suggests.

“Life is awesome I confess, what I do I do best,” croons Lana over distorted piano before evoking the kind of desperation and faded glamour we’ve become accustomed to by demanding: “lay me down tonight in my linen and curls.” The tempo then speeds up with an insistent drum beat and heavy bass for the instantly memorably chorus (“I fucked my way up to the top, this is my shot!”). The 27-year-old is yet to put a foot wrong with Ultraviolence. Listen to the latest very, very good cut from the LP after the jump.
