Jessie Ware Teases New Single “Tough Love”: Listen To A Snippet
Jessie Ware generated serious buzz with excellent debut LP but she’s hoping to make a well-deserved commercial breakthrough with her as-yet-untitled second album. Lead single “Tough Love”, which officially drops on June 16, sounds like a step in the right direction — at least from the brief snippet she posted on Instagram today (June 13).
There’s no denying the quality of Jessie’s soulful voice but she occasionally dabbles in overly polite jazz-tinged pop, which appeals to a rather narrow demographic. “Tough Love”, however, sounds like a more on-trend synth-pop anthem — albeit with a suitably sophisticated twist. Fingers crossed the finished product is as great as “Running” or “Wildest Moments”. Listen after the jump.
