Maroon 5’s “Maps”: Listen To The New ‘V’ Single

Maroon 5 conquered summer 2011 with “Moves Like Jagger” and ruled the airwaves just slightly less than “Call Me Maybe” in summer 2012 with “Payphone.” And after taking a brief break, Adam Levine and Co. are back once again with brand new single “Maps,” which should give every Song Of The Summer contender this year a serious run for the money.

Like Bruno Mars“Locked Out Of Heaven,” “Maps” gives off a serious Sting/The Police vibe, particularly with the guitar licks and Levine’s multi-tracked vocal harmonies on the chorus. Also evident is Ryan Tedder‘s influence (he co-produced the song with Benny Blanco and Noel Zancanella), as the track boasts a hint of OneRepublic‘s similar pop-rock anthems “Counting Stars” and “Love Runs Out.”

Head below to listen to “Maps,” the first single off M5’s upcoming album V.
