Wrabel Teases ‘Sideways’ EP With Moody Synth-Anthem “Into The Wild”: Idolator Premiere

Rising singer/songwriter Wrabel landed an unexpected worldwide hit as the featured vocalist on Afrojack‘s club monster “Ten Feet Tall”. While the EDM anthem is a reasonable introduction to Stephen’s (his real name) powerful pipes, his own material is more nuanced and sophisticated. Take “Into The Wild” — a moody cut on the newcomer’s debut EP Sideways (due June 24).

“We’re running out into the wild, don’t know what we’re trying to find but we need it,” sings Wrabel over simple keys and sinister bleeps. That’s when the synths come raining down and the crooner starts stretching his voice in weird and wonderful ways. Think Sam Smith‘s Disclosure collaboration, only slower and more anguished. Listen to the impressive jam after the jump.
