Taio Cruz Returns With Catchy Folk-Tinged Club Banger “Don’t You Dare”: Listen
The fate of Taio Cruz‘s third LP TY.O remains one of the biggest mysteries in pop. The Brit had racked up hit after hit with Rokstarr (including “Dynamite”, which remains one of the most-downloaded singles of all time) but the follow-up didn’t even warrant a full US release? Something went very wrong somewhere. Happily, the 29-year-old is back on track with another earworm!
“Don’t You Dare” is the first taste of Taio’s fourth LP, which is tentatively titled #Black (or #TheNewBlack). It’s another addition to the ever-growing genre of folk-tinged club-bangers that gained popularity with Avicii‘s “Wake Me Up” and arguably reached its zenith with Pitbull and Kesha‘s “Timber”. The “Break Your Heart” chart-topper puts his own spin on the sound and there’s no denying that this sounds like another hit. Listen to the catchy comeback anthem after the jump.
