Sia has slowly been rolling out cuts from her upcoming LP 1000 Forms Of Fear (out July 8), and today brings the latest, “Big Girls Cry.” As you might imagine, it’s another power ballad  — one that paints the portrait of an outwardly tough girl who’s anguish following a heartbreak gets the best of her. Like most of the singer’s material, the song comes packed with unfolding sonic layers, and the sucker-punch brought on by Sia’s lyrics hits hardest during the explosive chorus.

“I may cry, ruining my makeup / wash away all the things you’ve taken / and I don’t care if I don’t look pretty / big girls cry when their hearts are breaking,” Sia belts on the crushing chorus.

“Big Girls Cry” joins current hit “Chandelier” and album track “Eye Of The Needle” as songs we’ve now heard from Sia’s upcoming LP. Dare we say it, this one just might be the best yet. Give it a listen below.

“Big Girls Cry” will be made available on iTunes on July 1.
