Disclosure Covers ‘Billboard’: Check Out The “EDM Power Players”

Good things come to those who wait, and Disclosure is finally getting the recognition they so deeply deserved last summer — this summer — on the cover of Billboard this week.

While their debut album Settle dropped well over a year ago in the UK last May, including hits like “White Noise” with AlunaGeorge, the young UK dance dynamos have slowly but surely climbed their way up to mainstream radio stateside over the past year (no easy feat!), thanks to both their Mary J Blige-assisted “F For You,” as well as the slow-burning success of “Latch,” their incredible collaboration with current “It” boy (and record breaker), Sam Smith, which currently sits at its all time peak of #12 on the Billboard Hot 100.

The Billboard cover flaunts the boys as “EDM Power Players” which is a bit, well, hmmm: Although the troupe is dance-oriented at heart, they’re probably a bit too sophisticated to be lumped into the “EDM” category, which conjures visions of raging festival ravers, beat drops, PLUR and Kandi bracelets. Also, “RAVE ON!“? Yeesh.

That being said, the Billboard cover is a well deserved, long overdue sign that the boys are truly doing it big. Check out the cover up top.
