True talent always rises to the top. Case in point? Daniella Mason.

The Nashville-based singer-songwriter unexpectedly found her phone blowing up when “Really Don’t Care” Queen Demi Lovato casually tweeted out Daniella’s atmospheric 2013 single “All I Want,” to the tune of over 15,000 eager retweets from newfound fans. The endorsement led to Demi personally hand-picking the up-and-coming artist to open for her on the Neon Lights Tour stop in Pennsylvania. And to think: All that because of a single tweet.

Daniella has since carved out a new record with a band close to her heart, teaming up with her producer and friend Chase Foster, and her husband and guitar player Chris Young. Now, a few months after heading out on tour, Daniella’s diving in headfirst with “Shade Of You,” the dreamy lead single out tomorrow on iTunes (July 1) from her forthcoming album.

“Are you good for me?” the singer repeatedly ponders above the song’s luscious, laid-back electronic pulse. “‘Cause I’m mad for you.” The smooth, soulful electronic-acoustic stylings brings acts like Ellie Goulding and Jessie Ware to mind, as well as our up-and-coming indie-pop darling, Betty Who.

“I’ll dive in ’cause that’s just what I do and turn right into just another shade of you,” she declares along the soaring chorus. It’s an unassuming, catchy slice of mature pop — one that positions Daniella as one of the newest and most exciting ones to watch this year. Listen to the song below, and let us know what you think.
