5 Seconds Of Summer To Perform At 2014 MTV Video Music Awards

5SOS Heads To The 2014 VMAs
As if we needed any more proof that the bad boys of 5 Seconds Of Summer are making a huge splash stateside, the troupe is now confirmed as the latest act to take to the stage at the upcoming 2014 MTV Video Music Awards.

After Ariana Grande revealed that she’ll be breaking free with Zedd, the Aussie pop-punkers are the next act to confirm that they’ll be at this year’s VMAs airing live on Sunday, August 24.

“were performing at the @MTV VMAs in August! to be asked & given this opportunity’s incredible, we cant be more excited about it :D #5SOSVMAs,” the band tweeted.

It’s truly been a massive past few weeks for the band: Not only did they shoot straight to #1 with the international release of their self-titled debut in 71 countries (!) at the start of July, but their latest stateside track “Amnesia” also soared to the top of the US iTunes Songs Chart when it was released at the end of June. Oh, yeah — and they’re going out on tour to open for a little act called…One Direction. Don’t stop, boys!

Will never let my child listen to 5 Seconds of Summer again. Planed to see them in St. Louis and they canceled to do the MTV Awards show. Wrong on the part of MTV and 5 Seconds of Summer.
