Trey Songz Tops Album Chart While Ed Sheeran & Sam Smith Hang Tight Right Behind

This summer’s British upstarts Ed Sheeran and Sam Smith aren’t letting go of the upper reaches of the Billboard 200 anytime soon, as they hang in at #2 and #3, respectively, with x (which sold another 53,000 copies) and In The Lonely Hour (45,000). Sheeran topped the album chart last week, but makes way this time around for the #1 debut of “Na Na” crooner Trey Songz‘s sixth album Trigga (105,000).

Amidst all the shuffling within the Top 10, “Rude” dudes MAGIC! debut at #6 with their debut LP Don’t Kill The Magic (36,000), while Robin Thicke‘s public lament Paula creeps in at #9 with 24,000 sold, a far cry from the 177,000 Blurred Lines opened with last summer.
