Rixton Cover Ariana Grande’s “Problem”: Watch

Ariana Grande might have just missed that #1 spot stateside with her Iggy Azalea-assisted summer hit “Problem,” but she’s shot straight to the top of the UK charts last week.

To honor Ari’s hit, “Me And My Broken Heart” hit-makers Rixton — who first burst onto the US scene at #14 with their debut single earlier in March — have just churned out their very own (excellent) cover of the track.

The rapidly rising UK troupe’s take on the track re-swizzles the production entirely, replacing the brass-heavy original with soulful harmonies, finger snaps and nasty guitar licks. No Iggy section to be found here, but with lead singer Jake’s powerful chops at the forefront, the rap is hardly missed.

The boys are now planning to release their US Top 20 hit in their homeland next week, and judging by the strength of their stateside debut — plus the hilarious “Make Out” Miley Cyrus and Rihanna-spoofing video released last year — they should have no problem notching a hit across the pond, either.
