Beyonce and Jay Z drive the crowd wild in the debut trailer for its HBO special, On the Run Tour: Beyonce and Jay Z. Since the special will tape Sept. 12 and 13 in Paris, the trailer uses past footage to tease what’s to come. Quick shots of the hip-hop royal couple, interlocking hands as they navigate backstage, segue into slo-mo scenes of the crowd, raising their hands and fanning themselves. While the trailer doesn’t reveal a premiere date, its mere existence should assure fans that yes, On the Run is happening and will be worth watching.
This is good news. After all, as we concluded in our review of the tour’s opening night, Beyonce’s live rendition of “Pretty Hurts” deserves to be documented.
