Alesso is already a beloved fixture on the electronic dance music scene, having supplied utterly massive dance floor collaborations over the past few years including 2012′s Swedish House Mafia‘s Ingrosso and Ryan Tedder-assisted “Calling (Lose My Mind)” and last year’s Calvin Harris and Hurts powerhouse production, “Under Control.”
But now, with a newly inked label deal with Def Jam Recordings/Virgin EMI UK, Alesso is beginning a whole new chapter — starting with his brand new single, “Tear The Roof Up.”
Having spent months teasing his brand new track in opening sets of concerts and festival dates, the Swedish DJ just dropped the track on Zane Lowe’s BBC Radio 1 show. The pulse-raising cut comes raging out from the speakers immediately and plays like a quintessential party starter, complete with explosive build-ups and almighty beat drops. “We getting loud in the booth and I’mma tear up the roof,” a vocoded voice repeats over and over again across the scorching banger. “I wanted to make a massive song that would literally make people want to tear off the roof,” Alesso explains. Listen to the club cut after the jump.
