Marina & The Diamonds Teases New Song From The Recording Studio
Marina & The Diamonds‘ Electra Heart was easily one of the greatest (and most underrated) pop records of 2012, supplying us with powerful and devastating cuts — from “Primadonna” to “Lies” to “Power & Control” to “How To Be A Heartbreaker.”
And now, the UK singer-songstress is hard at work preparing a follow-up.
She’s already been dropping Instagrams over the past few weeks while “chillin” in “the studio” and attempting to record while watching the World Cup — even gifting us with a recording of her singing the word “motherf–ker” on loop. But just a few hours ago, the “Hollywood” chanteuse uploaded a brief snippet of a brand new song.
Although the tease is only a few seconds long, the sparse, piano-led ballad already sounds incredibly promising: “All my worries are gone, I’m enjoying the ride,” she beautifully croons. And it sounds like we might be hearing it in full pretty soon: Marina tweeted the words “End of Summer” just before posting the snippet. Gulp!
Are you ready for the return of Marina? Listen to the snippet and check out the tweet after the jump.
