The gridlock that Iggy Azalea and Charli XCX had imposed on the Billboard Hot 100 with “Fancy” has finally ended…for this week, at least. After seven weeks in the peak position on the main singles chart, “Fancy” takes a tumble in the wake of MAGIC!‘s “Rude” jumping to the #1 spot. It’s the first chart-topping song for songwriter/band frontman Nasri Atweh and his pals — not bad for the Canadian act’s first single!

Also making a move is Disclosure and Sam Smith‘s dance jam “Latch,” which finally hops into the Top 10, at #10. All involved can pop a bottle in celebration, given that the song has now officially charted higher in the States than it did in their home country of the United Kingdom (where it peaked at #11 last year).

“Latch” gives Smith two singles currently in the upper tier of the Hot 100, as his “Stay With Me” stays put at #5 for another week.

Congrats, fellas.

  1. Kill the MAGIC!, Please.

Yay! I love the part where the woman isn’t just a voiceless possession to be “had” for the rest of the lead singer’s life if her father relinquishes control of her. Oh, wait.
