“Weird Al” Yankovic Premieres “Lame Claim To Fame”: Watch Him Make Fun Of Name-Droppers

As part of the “Eight Videos In Eight Days” installation for his new album Mandatory Fun, “Weird Al” Yankovic debuted his video for track “Lame Claim To Fame” today. Already premiering parodies of pop heavyweights such as Pharrell, Iggy Azalea, Lorde, and Robin Thicke, Weird Al doesn’t poke fun at celebrities this time around but, rather, makes jabs at the people who name-drop or claim to know today’s biggest cultural figures but really don’t.

“My sister used to take piano lessons from the second cousin of Ralph Nader,” Weird Al sings, which he then follows up with “Last year I threw up in an elevator next to Christian Slater.”

And the list goes on and on. While the video itself is a bit reminiscent of Peter Gabriel‘s “Sledgehammer,” the track is done in the style of your average southern blues rock band. It also might have you shouting “I’ve got a lame, lame claim to fame” by the end of it.  You’ve been warned. Watch the clip up top.
