Well, here’s something to brighten your day. Janet Jackson‘s 1990 chart-topper “Escapade” has been overhauled for 2014 by Nick*. The Chicago DJ does an amazing job of updating the classic hit without losing the original’s bubbly appeal. Think of his endearing “North Shore Remix” as the musical equivalent of a fresh coat of paint.
It’s great to hear something new from Jan even if it’s an unofficial remix. Six years have passed since the pop icon last blessed us with an album (2008’s underrated Discipline) and the world is ready for another opus — as long as she avoids those irritating interludes and keeps the pornographic bedroom jams to a minimum.
