2. Dignity (2007).

In a truly just world, 2007 album Dignity would’ve been the game-changer it deserved to be in an era when Britney, Paris and Lindsay thought it would be a great giggle to seek gynecological assistance from the paparazzi. Full of artfully crafted, genuinely seductive pop like “Play With Fire,” “With Love” and the brilliant “Outside Of You,” the album should’ve launched this glossier, more grown-up Duff as America’s answer to Kylie Minogue. Alas, dignity — and, sadly, Dignity — is rarely a recipe for pop chart success. Chalk it up to the album being just slightly ahead of its time.
