5 Seconds Of Summer Take It Back To The Beginning In Their Melancholy “Amnesia” Video: Watch

5 Seconds Of Summer‘s self-titled debut LP landed at number one on the Billboard 200 this week and the band is celebrating their success by releasing a video for new single “Amnesia”. The summer smash, which was co-penned by Benji and Joel Madden of Good Charlotte fame, is already the foursome’s highest charting single — peaking (thus far) at number 16.

Given the anthem’s intense break-up theme, you’d be forgiven for thinking the video would depict relationship woes. Instead, it takes the Aussie teens back to the garage where they practiced pre-fame and follows their adventures on a perfect summer’s day (shopping cart races, road trips and a pool party). There’s still a slight twist of melancholy to the clip, which fits “Amnesia” perfectly. Watch up top.

Is “Amnesia” the band’s best video yet? Have your say in the comments below.
